In the field of teacher training , DIET, Coochbehar has been performing a significant role in the district right from its inception. Apart from regular pre-service teacher training, various in-service teacher training programmes are conducted in this institute. The institute organizes various teacher training programmes, orientation programmes, skill development programmes and workshops for the development of elementary education in collaboration with the School Education Department, RMSA, PBSM,SSM,SCERT. Besides, a number of national and State wise surveys like NAS,SAS etc have successfully been conducted by the institute.
The institute has successfully completed teacher’ training of the untrained in-service teachers and para-teachers through ODL mode as per the guidelines of WBBPE and NIOS. Now the institute serves as the evaluation sub-centre of D.El.Ed examination for the session 2021-23 and performs all the activities like answer scripts evaluation, scrutiny and entry of the marks for the publication of the result as ordered and directed by WBBPE.
