ABOUT US

This  Institute  was  established in 1942  as Guru Training School. Since then it has been christened many times as   Teachers’ Training School , then Junior Basic Training Institute , later again as Primary Teachers’ Training Institute and finally rechristened and upgraded  to the present District Institute of Education and Training, Cooch Behar.

The Institute is not only a training ground but also a Mecca for educationists who will build better and humane future citizens of our country. It is our heritage and legacy to preserve and uphold its values.
